Dressmaking classes

The Programme

Our dressmaking classes are designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced levels as well as for children, teenagers and adults and are offered among several course options.
If you haven’t found what you’re looking for in the shops or you love an outfit (or an accessory) that you’ve seen in a magazine or even thought up your own model, then these lessons are for you!
Learning to make your own clothes is the best way to ensure that you wear your own style of clothing and express your own personality.
We’ll teach you how to create your own basics, or adjust a pattern to your size or, for those who only wish to sew, buy a pattern created by our team.
Through our unique approach, you can benefit from our long experience in teaching and we can help you with your dressmaking projects.

The concept

A well assembled, made-to-measure item of clothing requires 2 skills :
Pattern-making
Before starting the course, together we’ll decide upon your project for the year. Within the group, we will create “tailor-made” training according to your wishes.

Buying a pattern from the shops

« Take time to care for yourself »If you've decided that you wish to buy a pattern from a shop, we can help you to read and adapt the pattern to your size before starting the group lessons with 2 one-hour private lessons. Using the adjustments, the pattern will be cut out in a test fabric to check that the model is what you were hoping for.
1 - One-hour private lesson
Learn how to adjust the pattern, read the measurements table, modify the shoulder span, lengthen sleeves, etc.
2 - Group sessions
Learn how to position the pattern on the fabric and assemble the item of clothing. This exercise will give you practice before using the final fabric and will enable you to make changes to it after having tried it on.
3 - One-hour private lesson
We will check the fabric and make any corrections together
4 - Back to group sessions
Final assembly of the item of clothing
Therefore, after two private lessons, you will be ready to start cutting out and assembling the fabric in group lessons.
Price for 2 hours of private lessons : 65 euros (You will need to buy the pattern and fabric yourself)
+ Fee covering all group sessions according to the dates
